Concept, Mission, & Philosophy

Reintegration Therapy is based upon the holistic model of health. In this paradigm there can be no separation of mind and body, therefore illness must be addressed on both levels. RT further presumes that human beings are presently in a state of rapid evolution. This evolution is occurring primarily in the realms of consciousness, and becomes manifest in the body through the integration of evolved mind-states. Yet the past holds reign over much of our physiology, impeding the process of breakthrough. Due to residual trauma throughout the mind-body, subconscious beliefs impede our growth trajectories. These traumas may be of emotional, physical, or mental origin and can be released. Through the deliberate activation and release of latent psychic patterns we free up the flow of energy to the meridians and tissues of our bodies. Energy flow is enhanced and charged with our new intent through conscious breath, posture, and alignment techniques traditionally known only in the East. The results of this process yield new found vitality, clarity, and inner peace.

RT synthesizes concepts from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kung Fu, Qi Gong, Shamanism, and Taoist Meditation to create an integrated modality for total health. Clinical therapy represents one branch of this medicine while restorative movements and intuitive alignment practices comprise the others. All elements are described below:

Clinical Therapy

The clinical aspects of RT include acupuncture, light touch energy work, and meridian massage bodywork. The objective of these modalities is to remove obstruction from the communication networks of the body and reestablish flow. With unimpeded flow, the body is able to rectify imbalace, eliminate disease, and restore optimum functionality. The substance of health is described as Qi Energy. Qi (chee) is thought to govern all metabolic processes within the human being. Qi is a life sustaining substance which exhibits its own form of consciousness. Thus qi bridges the gap between mind and body; and becomes the primary substance of focus within this healing modality.

Quantum Potentials

Quantum Potentials is an intuitive alignment system. It works in conjunction with all other branches of RT to bring awareness to movements of the subtle bodies and psyche. QP sheds light on the imperatives of individual growth and discusses ways to maintain integrity and maximize return through daily interactions. Alignment refers to a state of grace with respect to the natural process of holding and release that typifies human experience.

Studio Work

The studio elements of RT support and enhance the clinical component. However, they are a stand alone discipline as well. Studio work is divided into the following two categories:

Kung-Fusion is a core strength building concept which helps to establish personal space awareness. The class focus is on stance, stability, balance, grounding, distance, and angles. The arms and legs are both active in the practice, and movements are continuous and circular. There is emphasis on changing speed and redirection as well as deepening flexibility and strength through breath.

Five Aspects Qi Gong is focused on the internal aspects of wellness. It deals with posture, integrity, energy flow, and intention. There is a meditative quality to this class and visualization plays an important role. This practice serves to train the mind and focus its creative powers. Intuitive processes guide participants through alignment with basic life patterns and themes while attention is brought to centering the mind and body.

The body is a remarkable sentient organism. It will perform miracles if given the chance.

Sean Leonard is a graduate of the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine. He practices Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine as well as Acupuncture and Japanese Meridian Therapy. In 1994 he began training Shaolin Kung Fu. This inspired an interest in energy medicine. In 1997-98 he lived in Hiroshima, Japan where he studied the relationship between qi energy and physical consciousness. In 2004 he began incorporating artistic imagery with concepts from Kung Fu and Chinese Medicine to create Quantum Potentials, a marriage of intuitive movements and meridian opening practices. He currently lives and works in Sarasota, Florida and Redding, Connecticut
